Since becoming part of the Santander Group in 2004, UK high-street bank and mortgage provider Abbey has been managing the integration of its UK business processes into those of its new parent. Recognising the importance of talent management, Abbey has designed and is running a programme that identifies and supports the retention, development and appropriate deployment of high-potential managers within Abbey and the Santander Group.

In line with this initiative, it has also formed a Talent and Mobility Committee to support the development and deployment of high-potential individuals. Abbey is committed to the living nature of its talent pool and individuals are coached through difficult areas of their development. In addition to Abbey's initiatives, the Santander Group has an established Future Executives Programme, which is open to high-potential/ high-performing managers globally.
